I remember...
…of my visit to the Copenhagen City Transport Museum.
I even remember buying a disposable camera to immortalize on paper some of the trolleybuses, buses, and coaches housed in this beautiful museum.
A few years earlier, I had found some books on the subject at a second-hand dealership. I noticed that the transport authorities of all cities around the world arouse a curiosity, to a greater or lesser extent, among their former users. It’s clear that there is generally a desire for conservation, like the idea of preserving a collective memory. Perhaps this should also be seen as a form of nostalgia on the part of the users.
I remember several times passing pre-war Triangel buses decorated with small Danish pennants, crisscrossing the streets of Copenhagen. Danish enthusiasts and enthusiasts recorded the routes of the various lines that crisscrossed the capital. They even published small booklets retracing the history of each line. I don’t speak the language, but the expressive photos convinced me.
I acquired a few based on a very simple selection criterion: I had to find photographic evidence of the various buses, trams, and trolleybuses produced before the war by Micro.
It’s a brand I collect with passion. I’ve reserved a special place in the display case for these models. I thought of this when I saw the rare truck equipped with a mobile platform used to maintain power lines.
modèle en vente cette semaine : Micro DK – Camion réparateur de ligne de tramway
No toy manufacturer in the world has gone so far in offering its customers a complete overview of a transport company.
This line maintenance vehicle is an exceptional example. It completes a colorful collection.
Like the Opel Caravan from Vilmer last week, I sold this truck thirty years ago, and it’s back for sale on our site.
And with it, all the memories. This collection of vehicles is one of my favorites.
We might dare to make a comparison with the few contemporary French ARs also offered this week.
The Peugeot 201 “independent front wheel” sedan is in tune with the rest. The quality of the metal injection (lead) and its overall appearance are superior to those of the Danish Micros.

Jacques Greilsamer refers to this series of promotional Peugeots in the introduction to his book “World Catalog of Scale Model Cars” as a historical example used to promote real cars, second only to the Tootsietoys.
That’s not entirely true… the GM series Tootsietoys were not used as such! This Peugeot deserves the attention of history enthusiasts.
The other two ARs are much more rustic but still charming. They are junk toys. One of their major attractions lies in their preserved condition. Their cargo, a barrel, and a roll of cable bring these rustic models to life.

america
Looking at this week’s programming schedule, one thing is clear.
The large number of vehicles of American origin confirms the idea that the country’s automotive industry dominated global production for many decades.
The miniature reproductions from all over the world prove it.
This week, we have a Chevrolet SS from Plombel, a small Uruguayan manufacturer. Due to its distant origins, this model is rare. Its design is questionable. It is injected with lead. However, the model dates back to the 1970s. At that time, this material had long since been abandoned in the production of miniatures.

Let’s stay in South America, in Brazil, with these two beautiful Willys Jeeps. They were produced by Minimac, which had taken over the tooling from the “Gué” firm. They are faithful, well-made and have a reasonable selling price despite a certain rarity, which is an additional advantage.

The three trucks, two Chevrolets and one Dodge from Vilmer (Denmark), are splendid. I appreciate the Chevrolet’s original cab and its many body variations.

modèle en vente cette semaine : Vilmer – Chevrolet camion benne avec pelle
Vilmer even managed to reproduce two models related to concrete transport: a mixer and the one we have, equipped with two spherical tanks.
They form a beautiful set that looks great in a display case.
I invite you to collect them; it will take you a little time to explore the production process.

They also saw numerous military versions.
The Dodge model was highly original, with its platform known as a “piano transport”—a vehicle for music lovers.
The three Solidos, two “Juniors,” and one “Baby” were all US-inspired.
In this respect, they followed the trend in which, just after the war, French coachbuilders began to dress Citroëns, Matfords, and other cars with bodies inspired by the “beautiful Americans” of the time.

Finally, in the 1980s and 1990s, there was a nostalgia for the period when American industry dominated the market.
The miniature manufacturers of those years jumped into this niche. This week we have several examples.
Matchbox has created a range dedicated to this nostalgia. The products are very well made and highly detailed.
We have an original GMC fire truck. This cab takes us back to the 1940s. From the German manufacturer Conrad, we have a beautiful GMC truck, a vehicle that symbolizes the Second World War, and on which a Poclain hydraulic excavator was installed. This is an excellent idea because the French excavator manufacturer would expand after the war thanks to this type of combination, before creating self-propelled vehicles.

Let’s stay with Conrad with this International truck, available as a construction dump truck. The German manufacturer has attempted to break into the American market. The miniature is of high quality and highly representative of the American road landscape. Once again, it’s well-made, and the reasonable selling price is a plus.
Finally, we have two original versions of American cars produced in Israel by Gamda. I like the Chevrolet Chevelle’s livery in the colors of the Israeli Post Office. I have a soft spot for this theme. The Pontiac GTO, in the colors of the Israeli tourist office, has the merit of its originality. I don’t remember any other examples from other manufacturers of a version for this type of activity. It allowed Gamda to offer model variations for its domestic market, with Hebrew text, and others with English text for the export market. I really like those intended for the local market because of the originality of the decorations.

Volkswagen 1200
In the sea of Volkswagen 1200 reproductions, some stand out for their quality of execution.
This is the case for the three Volkswagens featured this week. Both Wikings date from 1968, at the end of the relationship between the Berlin-based manufacturer Wiking and Volkswagen, which had existed since 1949. This story could be a collector’s theme! It’s difficult to cover it all in a lifetime! Wiking constantly adapted its models to Wolfsburg’s specifications, thus evolving both the bodywork details and the colors. I discovered that Wiking had produced specific colors for certain export markets, just like the real cars, including metallic colors, particularly for the USA.
I was able to observe this during my travels in Scandinavia, then in the USA. I’m far from having explored all the color variations. We have two beautiful models in their beautifully illustrated boxes. It’s hard to remain unmoved.

The third miniature is a perfect example of the worldwide success of this car. It was produced in Brazil, in the Solex factory in Sao Paulo. This entity had signed a contract with Solido. Without being able to prove it, we have a strong intuition given the quality of the mold that it was designed and engraved in France at Solido. The example offered is superb, with its rare box. The version produced (around 1970) is a transitional model that was not produced in Europe. It has a front hood with the headlights integrated into the wings, and the large rear lights that appeared at the end of the sixties (1968 from memory). It is a very beautiful piece that has always been rare.

My favorite is this Fiat 1500 from Balthasar
My favorite is this Fiat 1500 from Balthasar, an Argentinian manufacturer. Three reasons.
The model’s distant origin, South America. I’m partial to reproductions of European cars from South America, particularly Argentina. Fiat was very well established in this country, and the numerous reproductions in the Buby catalog, the great Argentinian miniature manufacturer, prove it.
This Balthasar is, in fact, a blown-plastic copy of the Buby.

The second reason is the finish and color. I like the pink color, original and unrealistic. Let’s not forget that we are in the presence of a toy. As for the silver stenciled finishes, they are worthy of a quality model. The third reason is my attachment to popular sedans. They touch me much more than the sports models. This toy is difficult to obtain. I remember that 25 years ago I had a box of six pieces, in assorted colors. This model was part of this box of six. It is back on sale today…
