We also have two beautiful Citroën DS models. Corgi Toys had an affinity with the productions of Slough, a town west of London, where Citroëns were assembled in Great Britain. The Citroën DS19 was the first "foreign" car reproduced by Corgi Toys. It therefore holds a special place in the brand's history. Corgi Toys followed with "safari" versions, the English name for the station wagon. Then, the Swansea firm, which must have appreciated this French car, produced a splendid Chapron coupé version. I particularly like the treatment of the wire wheels and especially the headlights adorned with rhinestones. The Chevrolet Impala, also in the catalog, inaugurated the long series of American cars reproduced by Corgi Toys. The American market was obviously a priority for Corgi Toys. The "fire chief" version is original, even if it seems a bit far-fetched in reality. Children must have been drawn to the accessories: the flashing light, the antenna, the decorations, and especially the figure on the front seat. A beautiful toy, in a way. What more could you ask for? And what about the Morris Mini Cooper Deluxe with its superb finish? These toys aren't rare; they were mass-produced and distributed worldwide. They're beautiful and they left their mark on a generation. They perfectly embody the Corgi Toys spirit. That's also why I've kept them. Finding them in excellent condition, with beautiful boxes, is far from easy. In fact, in my opinion, the appeal of these products is tenfold if these last two conditions are met.
