The colors and silhouettes of these miniatures take me back to that distant memory. This week, several cars offered for sale have revived this memory. The Mercedes C111, the Monteverdi 375L, the Volkswagen 1200 \"de luxe\" (the aptly named one), the Ford Escort and the rare Rolls Royce Silver Cloud III in metallic red. Now they are quite affordable, I assure you. They form a coherent whole. We now know that they did not meet the demand, which had evolved considerably. This week, two other DINKY TOYS from that period, but of French origin, are offered. They should also have been on this display. First of all, the Abarth 2000. Its launch price was 18.5 Francs. It is a great success. The model is well proportioned, the angular shapes well rendered. I appreciate its fine execution. It has in common with the other model proposed this week, the Moskvitch, the fact of not having had great success and of having been shunned by collectors for a very long time. However, the latter is very interesting. It will know the \"luxury\" of having a derived model in the USSR (see blog). I still wonder about the choice of the management of Meccano France. Why did they choose to reproduce this model? Was the posh clientele of DINKY TOYS ready to acquire a car from the land of the Soviets? On the rotating display, described above, it nevertheless presented a great originality. I may have recently had an element of an answer. My daughter recovered from a lot in Italy, a model with a very particular box. On two sides of the box, there is a sticker, on a yellow background, different on each side, of the same style as the one that was used to hide the design of the panel that was offered on the first series of Peugeot 404 police. The origin is not in doubt. There you can read the name and address of Autoexport in Moscow. The same one that appears on the box of the Lada Mercury that was distributed by this network as well. Maybe the design of this model was partly subsidized by the Russians, which could explain the existence of the model made in the USSR? Could Novoexport have recovered some of the tooling? It is a modest but interesting discovery."}
