These are little things we keep in our memories, sometimes modifying them, often embellishing them. Doubts can creep in. Time has taken its toll. However, I remember very well certain models that made a lasting impression on me, like the arrival in the window of the &#8220;Au Petit Bazar&#8221; shop on Rue de la Corne de Cerf, just a stone&#8217;s throw from my parents&#8217; shop in Compi\u00e8gne, of the Dinky Toys &#8220;Highway&#8221; set.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>I even had the opportunity to write a blog post about it.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>I also remember very well the box for the Berliet double-cab truck with a large ladder that sat proudly in a brass side display case. The design on the lid captivated me.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>Recently, I had the unexpected opportunity to acquire a Dinky Toys catalog, 1963 edition, bearing the company&#8217;s stamp. Needless to say, this catalog is particularly dear to me.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>Having become a collector in the mid-seventies, I looked at those shop windows with a different perspective. I had grown up; I had lost the childlike innocence that makes everything seem wonderful in a toy shop window. My memories would now be tied to other products, those intended for collectors.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>Around that same time, there was a surge in the production of new scale models specifically for collectors. These were no longer just toys, and their price tag made it clear to the buyer that they were dealing with a product for adults. That&#8217;s how I discovered these Tekno models made in the Netherlands.<\/div>\n\t<div id=\"stack-4007297603\" class=\"stack stack-row justify-start items-stretch\">\n\t\t\n\n\t<div id=\"text-1350426742\" class=\"text\">\n\t\t\n\n<div>They were sold at very high prices. The Dutch buyers understood perfectly well that these beautiful vehicles of Danish origin could now appeal to a different clientele.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>Now produced in limited series, decorated in the colors of existing transport companies, Tekno Holland had taken advantage of the rise of the &#8220;collectible&#8221; phenomenon to find its niche. And it did so brilliantly. The head of the Danish firm would never have thought that this type of product, intended solely for a collector&#8217;s clientele, could be viable.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>Even Mr. de Vazeilles of Solido hadn&#8217;t imagined it. Only Mr. Greilsamer, with his Modelisme and then Eligor, had understood it; it must be said that he was at the heart of the demand with his magazine and his shop on Boulevard S\u00e9bastopol.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>I thought of this when I saw the three beautiful examples directly derived from Danish designs but manufactured in the Netherlands. I&#8217;m not sure if it was ever sold commercially. They are easily as attractive as the Danish versions, and the De Rijke version is, let&#8217;s face it, quite rare.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>These vehicles, overlooked by enthusiasts, truly deserve a restoration. They have a unique history and are just as well-finished as their Danish counterparts. Fashions come and go, but I remain attached to this brand and all the toys produced in the immediate post-war period. The sensory pleasure is still there. I still enjoy handling them, hoping to find new shades of color or variations in the rim colors.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>When I see models from this period in the weekly lineup, I select them to share this passion. With the secret hope that it will also interest others, who will in turn get caught up in the game of discovering variations.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>Prices have dropped significantly. Some Dinky Toys collectors seem worried about this, but I encourage them, on the contrary, to take advantage of this favorable situation to improve or expand their collections.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>This week we have a few examples that deserve your attention. This charming little truck is quite interesting. It has burgundy rims. It&#8217;s a &#8220;30 S,&#8221; sold in sets of six. The first, with a small engraving, was only available in sets of six. This is the case with the example offered here. While Ideal cars built on the same principle are easy to find, the trucks are much rarer and more impressive.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>I appreciate the numerous chrome-plated plastic parts that adorn the miniature. It&#8217;s as flashy as an American truck!<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>The chosen color is a perfect match for this model, and the bull bar in front of the radiator immerses us in the American road scene of the mid-sixties.
