I value this spirit of sharing, as it helps advance our collective knowledge.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>I always greatly enjoy sharing ideas and conversing with Robert Newson or Patrick Trench whenever I am in Great Britain.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>I love watching the look in their eyes when they pull new finds from their pockets. I sense that the pleasure lies as much in sharing the discovery as in actually owning the item. Yet, such encounters are becoming rare. It seems to me that nowadays\u2014particularly with social media\u2014the focus has shifted to self-promotion; the ego has taken precedence over the object itself. I remember a time when we took pleasure in discovering an unknown model through a photograph or a publication, without a trace of jealousy or the urge to disparage the lucky owner.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>I reflected on this when I saw the three books currently on sale\u2014books for which we provided photographs and information. There had previously been no book covering the subject of Renault toys.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>Mick Duprat was initially particularly interested in sheet-metal Renault toys. Consequently, he also visited my father to cover the Zamak die-cast models. He created a beautiful book featuring\u2014as is always the case with his work\u2014stunning photography that inspires a desire to collect.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>Dominique Pascal took a different, original approach. Aiming to appeal to a broad audience, he wanted to juxtapose Dinky Toys with the actual vehicles they represented.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>The result is a high-quality book for the general public, serving as an excellent introduction for those nostalgic for Dinky Toys. Here, too, the photography is excellent, and the excerpts from automotive catalogs are well-chosen.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>The book by Thierry Redempt and Claude Wagner, dedicated exclusively to the &#8220;24&#8221; series, falls into a different category; it is aimed at enthusiasts specifically looking for model variations.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>The book has a pleasant format. The choice to use large, cut-out images of the models is one I do not personally share. Claude Wagner brought his analytical rigor to the project with Thierry Redempt, resulting in an enjoyable book.<\/div>\n\t<div id=\"gap-2105276855\" class=\"gap-element clearfix\" style=\"display:block; height:auto;\">\n\t\t\n<style>\n#gap-2105276855 {\n  padding-top: 30px;\n}\n<\/style>\n\t<\/div>\n\t\n\n<div class=\"text-center\"><div class=\"is-divider divider clearfix\" style=\"max-width:400px;height:10px;background-color:rgb(0, 0, 0);\"><\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"container section-title-container\" ><h3 class=\"section-title section-title-bold-center\"><b><\/b><span class=\"section-title-main\" style=\"font-size:171%;color:rgb(55, 52, 208);\">Too much, perhaps?<\/span><b><\/b><\/h3><\/div>\n\n<div>Dinky Toys France has inspired many authors. Perhaps too many?<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>We are still waiting for the equivalent regarding the Liverpool output&#8230; which is much harder to cover. I remain fascinated by the diversity of the British production.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>The only solution would be a book created through the collaboration of several enthusiasts, each specializing in their own field\u2014figures, planes, trains, accessories, miniatures, pre-war and post-war models\u2014since the production span covers nearly fifty years.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>I recommend Dr. Force\u2019s book to fans of British Dinky Toys; it is the easiest to find and also the most affordable. The photos and the catalog listings are excellent.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>I would love to see a similar book on the Milan-based brand Politoys.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>Here again, the list compiled by Dr. Force in *Made in Italy* is high-quality and helpful to collectors. It serves as a solid foundation. I have always appreciated this Italian brand and its early injection-molded plastic products.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>Recently, a trend has emerged in Italy. Enthusiasts are seeking out different color and mold variations\u2014much like with Dinky Toys\u2014and it is always gratifying to see this kind of phenomenon. It creates a real sense of momentum.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>In fact, for the models I enjoy\u2014such as Fiat or Lancia sedans or the Dauphine\u2014I\u2019ve found myself hunting for the various color versions. Generally, this kind of trend eventually leads to a book being published; it\u2019s a recurring pattern.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>I would really appreciate a book on the brand\u2014one that explains the variations and the history of the models.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>This week, for instance, we have a rare orange Innocenti A40. We must know how to place them in their context, that of an Italy which is recovering in the post-war period.
